YC Youth Leadership Program:

Training
The Youth Leadership Program works at further developing the leadership potential that young people already possess. YLP builds a strong foundation of leadership skills and abilities through regularly scheduled trainings and workshops. These trainings give youth the confidence and knowledge they need to take the lead.

Service
YLP gives youth the opportunity to design, plan and carry out their own service projects that benefit their community, while actively seeking out existing opportunities in the community for youth to make a positive impact. Youth service projects have directly benefited Berwyn, Cicero and surrounding areas by working with schools, other community organizations, town and city governments and collaborating with other youth groups.

Recreation
YLP encourages youth to connect to peers and adult volunteers in fun ways through regularly scheduled social activities. These activities promote team-building and help develop long-lasting friendships that help youth to work together toward accomplishing shared goals.

Eligibility
YLP is open to youth grades 8-12, that live in Berwyn, Cicero, Stickney, Lyons or Forest View. The Youth Leadership Program is an open program, accepting new participants at any time. YLP schedules all events and activities on a monthly basis, as they arise. Please check our monthly calendar for the current projects, meetings, activities and workshops scheduled.
